Sip, Don’t Rip: The Only Summer Mocktail Recipe You Actually Need

Look, we get it. Sometimes you want to kick back with something cold and refreshing without torching your lungs at a backyard cookout while your neighbor’s dog judges you. Enter: the cannabis-infused mocktail. All the good vibes, zero IPAs required, and way more interesting than a La Croix.

The Mango Tango Highball

Because regular mango drinks don’t hit like this.

This mocktail is bright, tropical, and refreshing. With a Trees THC tincture or infused simple syrup dropped in, it turns your patio into paradise without anyone even knowing why you’re so chill.

What You’ll Need

Ingredients (makes 1 drink)

  • 2 oz mango juice or fresh mango puree
  • 1 oz fresh lime juice (about 1 lime, squeeze it yourself, you deserve this)
  • 0.5 oz agave syrup or honey
  • 1 ml THC tincture (or 1 oz THC-infused syrup, swap the agave if you go this route)
  • 4 to 6 oz sparkling water or ginger beer
  • Ice (lots of it)
  • Garnish: lime wheel, fresh mango slice, or a sprig of mint if you’re feeling fancy

Tools

  • A cocktail shaker or a mason jar with a lid (we support both approaches)
  • A tall glass
  • A measuring dropper for your tincture (precision matters here, see dosing notes below)

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Prep your shaker

Fill your cocktail shaker or mason jar with ice. Drop in the mango juice, lime juice, and agave syrup. Skip the agave if you’re using infused syrup.

Step 2: Add the cannabis product

Add your measured dose of THC tincture or infused syrup. This is the star of the show. Measure carefully and don’t freestyle it.

Step 3: Shake it up

Shake for about 15 seconds. You want it cold and combined, not just sad and stirred.

Step 4: Strain and pour

Fill your tallest glass with fresh ice. Strain the shaken mixture over the ice.

Step 5: Top it off

Top with sparkling water or ginger beer. Ginger beer adds a nice kick if that’s your vibe.

Step 6: Garnish and enjoy

Garnish with a lime wheel and mango slice. Take a photo. Post it. You look like you have your life together.

Step 7: Sip slowly

Sip slowly. Seriously, read the dosing notes below first.

Dosing Tips (Read This Part, We Mean It)

Cannabis-infused drinks are sneaky. That’s not a threat. It’s just a fact. Here’s how to not ruin your Saturday:

  • Start low, go slow: If you’re new to edibles or infused drinks, start with 5 to 10 mg THC. Wait at least 60 to 90 minutes before deciding if you need more. Drinks can take longer to kick in than you expect.
  • Check your tincture label: Most tinctures sold at Trees are labeled in mg/ml. A standard 500mg bottle in a 30ml dropper equals roughly 16.6 mg per ml. Adjust your dose accordingly. When in doubt, ask our budtenders. That’s literally what they’re there for.
  • Using infused syrup?: Same rules apply. Check the total mg on the label and do the math before you free pour.
  • Set and setting matter: You’re about to be very relaxed. Maybe don’t attempt this before driving, presenting a quarterly report, or assembling IKEA furniture.
  • Cannabis affects everyone differently: Your tolerance, body weight, metabolism, and what you ate for lunch all play a role. First time? Half a dose.
